Café All-Rounder / Barista – Mount Buller (Seasonal)


The Ski Club of Victoria has an exciting opportunity for a hospitality whiz to join our team in our busy little café for the remainder of the summer season, with the opportunity to stay on for the 2025 winter season for the right person.


Mount Buller truly comes alive in summer, offering walking trails, mountain biking, events, and endless outdoor adventures. Based in the heart of Victoria’s High Country, your days off can be spent exploring iconic spots like Lake Eildon and the King Valley. Come winter, you’ll swap sunshine for snow and enjoy the buzz of a thriving ski resort and all it has to offer.


Our café is well known for its great coffee, delicious pastries, cakes, fresh bites, toasted sandwiches, and wraps. It’s a fast-paced, friendly environment where quality and consistency matter—and where regulars quickly become familiar faces.


What does a normal day look like?


  • 7:00am – Start the day in the kitchen prepping fresh food for the café
  • 7:30am – Doors open and the morning coffee rush begins
  • 10:00am – Smoko time—keep our local workers fuelled and caffeinated
  • 10:30am – Restock and prep for lunch service
  • 12.30pm - Lunch Times
  • 2:30pm – Home time, with the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the mountain


Who we’re looking for


You’ll bring:

  • Strong knowledge of coffee, equipment, and coffee-based beverages
  • Previous experience in a similar role (barista and food handling experience essential)
  • The ability to work independently, multitask, and keep going when it gets busy
  • A can-do attitude and an outgoing personality—you’ll love being part of a small, close-knit mountain community
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA – Victoria) certification


The details


This is a casual seasonal position, operating:

  • 5 days per week (Monday–Friday) during the summer season
  • 7 days per week during the winter season
  • Occasional weekend work in summer during events
