Mt Buller Fish & Chippery is a busy, high-volume venue offering both takeaway and dine-in (50 seats) service throughout the snow season.

We cater to a wide range of customers, including walk-in guests, families, and international tour groups, requiring efficient systems, clear communication, and fast, accurate service during peak periods.

THE ROLE

As a Cashier, you will be responsible for taking orders, processing payments, and ensuring smooth front-of-house flow during service. All front-of-house staff are expected to work across multiple areas including service, food running, and general support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Taking customer orders quickly and accurately
• Operating the POS system and handling cash and card payments
• Communicating orders clearly to the kitchen
• Managing queues and maintaining an organised service area
• Assisting with food running and basic front-of-house duties
• Providing friendly and professional customer service at all times

This is a fast-paced role, especially during peak snow periods, where accuracy and efficiency are essential.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Strong customer service skills
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Confidence handling cash and POS systems
• Ability to stay calm and organised under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable and punctual

Highly regarded:

• Previous cashier or food service experience
• Experience in high-volume venues
