Build your confidence with a two-hour group lesson. Mt Buller's team of instructors are dedicated to giving you the best possible experience for you to learn and progress your skiing and boarding level quickly. Explore our Group Lesson options below.

- Please note advanced group lessons are not available. If you are capable of skiing or riding blue runs competently, skiing bumps and exploring black terrain then Private Lessons are the best option.
Trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time? Our two-hour First Time group lesson is a great way to learn the basics of stopping and turning and you will have access to a number of beginner lifts to practice your new skills with a lift pass included with the purchase of your First Time group lesson. This is a packaged lift & lesson product and only available for your first time skiing or snowboarding experience.

If you’ve skied or snowboarded previously, we have 2-hour morning lessons. Perfect your turns, explore more terrain and improve your skills. Our instructor team will sort you into a suitable group to maximise your learning. You’ll be able to create a bespoke itinerary and pick and choose the days you’d like your lesson through our online store. IF you are an advanced skier or rider, we recommend you book a private lesson.

Adult Ski & Snowboard Lessons

All lessons can be purchased online through the Mt Buller online store. Alternatively, they can be purchased in person at any ticket office, Buller Sports locations in Mansfield or Mt Buller, our Altitude retail store, or at the Ski and Snowboard School front desk.
Lift and lesson packages are available at all of the above locations and on our online store.
To ensure you get your preferred lesson option and avoid disappointment, we highly recommend purchasing your lesson online in advance.

Lift tickets can be purchased through the Mt Buller online store and loaded directly onto your B-TAG. Alternatively, they can be purchased in person at any ticket office, Buller Sports location in Mansfield or Mt Buller, at our Altitude retail store, or at the Ski and Snowboard School front desk.
Lift and lesson packages are available at all of the above venues and our online store.
- Yes - you will be required to collect your lesson ticket for all class lessons. These may be collected prior to the start of your lesson at any ticket office, Buller Sports location in Mansfield or Mt Buller, at our Altitude retail store, or at the Ski and Snowboard School front desk.

Ski and snowboard lesson tickets within our children's programs provide important information, such as emergency contact details, child's name, age and any allergy conditions. This assists our team to ensure we deliver the highest standards of care.
Lesson tickets allow our team to verify your purchase within the meeting place and assist you with finding the correct lesson.

Adult and Teen ski lessons, meet at Heli Flat (outside the Ski and Snowboard School) near the bottom of the ABOM chairlift.
Adult and Teen snowboard lessons, meet at the Village Square near Altitude and Buller Sports retail and rental outlet.
- Check out the Find Your Level page to help you determine this. Your instructor on your first day will also talk to you and ask questions to determine your skill level.
- If you miss your lesson you will not be entitled to a refund or credit.

Mt Buller supports and encourages all skiers and snowboarders wearing a helmet.
Helmets are compulsory for all children participating in lessons and are included free with Buller Sports rental packages. A bicycle or motorcycle helmet is not accredited, it must be a ski or board helmet.

Buller Sports is conveniently located within the Ski & Snowboard School building and offers ski & snowboard rentals for all ages.
Goggles, gloves and other accessories may be purchased, plus drinks and snacks, from the retail outlet in the Ski and Snowboard School building.

Your Season Membership is your unlimited access to the lift network at Mt Buller all winter. The Ski & Snowboard School has 'lesson only' products available for all Adult lessons and full and half-day Buller Kids (7-14 yr olds) programs that you can buy separately (not available for Bunyips 3-6yr olds). Season Membership holders receive a 10% discount on Ski & Snowboard School group lessons and select private lessons (conditions apply. Not valid for crèche, Bunyips programs, or seasonal programs).
Discounts can be applied online by using your discount code, located at the bottom of your season membership email confirmation receipt.

A First Timer Ski, or Snowboard lesson is for those who have never Skied or Snowboarded before. When purchasing a 'First Timer Lift + Lesson' included is a restricted full-day lift pass, to 3 First Timer lifts (ABOM Express Chair, Bourke St Express Chair and Bourke St Carpet).
Does not include a B-TAG. Does not include rental equipment.

After completing a First Timer Lesson (Ski or Snowboard), you can progress your skills by taking a Beginner/ Intermediate lesson. When booking online select the product, 'Adult/ Teen 15+ Ski/ or Snowboard Lesson Only'. When you arrive for your lesson, you will be allocated into the correct group based on your skill level and experience.
You are required to purchase a lift pass separately to the Beginner or Intermediate Adult/ Teen 15+ Lesson.

Ski lessons meet on-snow out of the front of the Mt Buller Ski and Snowboard School. Flags clearly mark each lesson start, i.e. Buller Kids (7-14 year olds), Adult/Teen 15+ Group, or Private lessons.
Bunyips (3-6 year olds) can be registered at the Bunyips centre, located inside of the Ski and Snowboard School on level 3.
Aim to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your lesson start time with ski equipment already fitted.

Adult group snowboard lessons meet in the Village Square.
Kids group snowboard lessons (Buller Kids) meet outside of the ABOM restaurant, which is located just across the Bourke St ski run from the Ski and Snowboard School.
All private lessons meet outside the Ski and Snowboard school.
