What You need to know

Park at either Mansfield or Mirimbah and catch a bus to the Mt Buller Village.

If parking at Mirimbah, you will need Resort Entry. Display your Resort Entry dashboard pass in your windsheild and tell the staff at the entry gate you are catching the Village Express. They will direct you to a carpark.

Catch the Village Express on peak weekends, or the MMBL bus to get from the Mirimbah Entry Gate to the Mt Buller Village.

Visitors parking off mountain are not required to carry wheel chains.

MIRIMBAH - Village Express

The Village Express is a bus service that connects visitors from the Resort Entry Gate at Mirimbah, the base of the mountain, to the Mt Buller Village. This service only runs on weekends during July and August, and is for day visitors only.

BEFORE ARRIVING

Print your Resort Entry Dashboard pass before you leave and have it ready to show at the gate.

If you cannot print ahead of time, stop by the staff booths at the Mirimbah Entry Gate to get it printed for you.

Chains are not required to be carried if you are catching the Village Express.

ARRIVING

When you arrive at the Mirimbah Entry gate, tell the staff you've booked the Village Express and you'll be directed to park nearby.

The Village Express departs from Mirimbah Store every Saturday and Sunday of peak season, between 9.30am and 1pm.

DEPARTING

Catch the return Village Express from the Mt Buller Village bus bay. Return trips down the mountain run between 1.45pm and 5.15pm, and will drop you back at Mirimbah to find your car.

This service is for day visitors only.

Please note: Online bookings are not available on the day of travel. Tickets can be purchased at the gate on Saturdays and Sundays, if seats are available.

MANSFIELD - MMBL

The Mansfield-Mt Buller Bus Line (MMBL) service runs throughout the season, and has flexible options depending on your desired pick up location and journey times.

ARRIVING

For an even simpler journey, you can leave your car in Mansfield, behind the Mansfield-Mt Buller Bus depot.

From Mansfield, you can catch a bus to the Mt Buller Village. The MMBL bus stops at Merrijig, Mirimbah and Sawmill on the way to Mt Buller.

FAQs

Village Express

: Service is offered on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) in July and August only. This service is for day visitors only in vehicles with seven seats or less. Not bookable for minibuses, overnight guests or tour groups/commercial operators. Toboggans are not allowed on the Village Express.
: Yes when you book, you must choose your same day departure and return time. Each passenger must have their own seat booked.
: It takes approx. 45 minutes
: It is very important to be ready at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure. If you miss your booking, there may not be seats available on the next vehicle.
: No, you do not need to carry wheel chains if you are catching the Village Express. One of the benefits of this service – you don’t need to drive the mountain road, the professional driver will take you safely to the village.
: If you can’t print your dashboard pass, have a copy of your purchase confirmation on hand and stop at the resort entry gate when you arrive (at the bottom of the mountain), the resort entry team can print your pass.
: Please stop at the entry gate (at the bottom of the mountain) when you arrive, show your purchase confirmation to the resort entry team who will record the vehicle registration and print your pass.

The Village Express departs from Mirimbah Park located through the Entry gate at Mirimbah (at the base of Mt Buller). Parking attendants will direct you where to park. The Village Express will take you directly to the Mt Buller Village Centre.
: Mt Buller uses licence plate recognition software. Putting in your correct vehicle details ensures the system recognises your vehicle, aligns it to a valid entry pass and stops you receiving a fine.
